Construction Update:
Scope: Replacement of the retention wall; site work; roof replacement; parking lot repairs; installation of a flagpole
Status:
The contractor and engineers have provided all of the information and data for final permitting of the retaining wall, and the permit was approved on July 22. A pre-construction meeting was held on-site on August 2 and the excavation work should start very soon. This contract provides for the retaining wall, new sidewalks and renovations to the ADA parking, and includes new doors for the restrooms. The HVAC system is also being evaluated for performance enhancements. The construction time frame for the retaining wall and all the other items is estimated to be about three months. The land adjacent to the library is now seriously being considered for a playground area to be provided and maintained by the Parks & Recreation Department. Concepts and preliminaries are in the works at this time, and community meetings for stakeholder input will occur in the near future.
