Construction Update:
Scope: HVAC replacement; carpet replacement; painting; installation of exterior restroom doors; new meeting room furniture;
installation of roof canopy over the back door; lighted flag pole, and expansion of parking area.
Status:
A separate contract that replaced some of the HVAC system was completed in June 2009. The low-bid construction contract was approved by City Council on May 13, 2010, the pre-construction meeting was held on June 4, and work officially began on June 7. Construction time frame is 130 days and work should be completed October 2010. Closure of the branch for thirty days, September 1-30, to accomplish the interior work was approved by the Library Board of Trustees at their regular monthly meeting in July.
