MORE:           Airplanes, like books, have the power to take you places near and far. This month, share in Councilman Treviño's love of flying with books for all ages about airplanes.

Families are invited to celebrate with free activities for all ages like story time with pilots, DIY paper and straw airplanes, cloud painting, and more.

A docent from the Texas Air Museum at Stinson Airport will present a program about the Stinson family and Katherine Stinson, the 4th licensed female pilot in the U.S. There will

also be a number of model airplanes on display, courtesy of the Alamo Squadron of the International Plastic Models Society.

This program is a continuation of Our Family Reads: The Mayor’s Book Club. Our Family Reads was created by Mayor Ron Nirenberg to encourage families in the community to

read along with him and members of City Council about some of their favorite topics, and to cultivate a community experience through reading.

This month, check out books for family members of all ages, fiction and nonfiction, that focus on airplanes. Visit guides.mysapl.org/mayorron for a list of book suggestions and to learn

more about upcoming topics. Visit mysapl.org or call 210-207-2500 for a complete schedule of programs.
