MORE:            San Antonio Public Library and its partners aim to enlighten and educate the community with this important initiative in order to promote tolerance and inspire acceptance. The 2020 theme is Women in the Holocaust. Physically more vulnerable and more likely to be caretakers than men, women faced special challenges during the Holocaust. Offsetting these weaknesses, women were also more likely to band together to support one another in the camps and ghettos.

Throughout the month of January, the Holocaust Memorial Museum and the San Antonio Public Library will host programs that highlight artists and works of art exploring the experiences of women Holocaust survivors during the war and after their liberation.

Program attendees will have the opportunity to explore the Holocaust through the eyes of survivors at powerful art exhibits, live performances, and presentations from nationally recognized scholars.

Visit mysapl.org or call 210-207-2500 for a complete schedule of programs.
