Free Wi-Fi now available at 28 San Antonio Public Library locations

Locations may be closed, but Wi-Fi remains open

SAN ANTONIO (April 22, 2020) – San Antonio Public Library (SAPL) has made free Wi-Fi available outside of 28 of its 30 locations daily from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. in an effort to serve those who do not have reliable broadband access at home.

Members of the public using SAPL Wi-Fi are required to practice social distancing and observe all measures of the Mayor’s Stay Home, Work Safe orders. If available, accessing Wi-Fi from your vehicle is recommended; walk-ups are allowed where necessary. Molly Pruitt Branch Library and Briscoe Portal at the Briscoe Western Art Museum are not included in this initiative.

For updates on SAPL services during the COVID-19 pandemic, please follow @mysapl on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter or visit mysapl.org. Services currently provided include:

  • Digital library card signup available at mysapl.org.
  • Digital resources such as eBooks, eAudiobooks and learning databases are available 24/7 at mysapl.org/digital.
  • Live Homework Help by professional tutors is available online from 3 p.m. to midnight for a variety of subjects in both English and Spanish at mysapl.org/livehomeworkhelp.
  • Online programming such as story times and book reviews are available through social media at guides.mysapl.org/here4u
  • Library staff is available Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 210-207-2500 to provide community information including reader’s advisory, job search assistance, account support, and more.
  • Book drops remain closed.
  • No due dates or fine accrual during the closure.
  • Books on hold before the closure will be available for seven days once SAPL reopens.
