Latino Collection and Resource Center at Central Library to Host “Talking Tamales” with Carmen Tafolla and Dr. Ellen Riojas Clark

MORE:           Ellen Riojas Clark, Ph.D. is a UTSA professor emerita who served as the Educational Content Director for a nationally acclaimed PBS children’s cartoon series Maya and Miguel. Her idea of heaven is a giant tamalada with chicken and rajas tamales.

 

Carmen Tafolla, Ph.D. is an internationally acclaimed Chicana writer from San Antonio. Tafolla served as the poet laureate of San Antonio from 2012 to 2014, and was named the Poet Laureate of Texas for 2015-16.

 

The Latino Collection and Resource Center at Central Library is a cultural and educational resource that chronicles and celebrates the literature, heritage, and contemporary life of Latinos in the United States. The Latino Collection and Resource Center celebrated its grand opening on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 as part of the Library’s ongoing efforts to facilitate access to informational resources and enlightening experiences.
