San Antonio Public Library’s Digital Library Celebrates Five Millionth Check Out

How-to Guide to Chess is Five Millionth Digital Check Out

Even with this growing use of digital materials, physical items are still checked out an average of five times more often than digital items. In fiscal year 2017, the San Antonio Public Library lent over 7.3 million total items.

San Antonio residents who have not yet signed up for a San Antonio Public Library card can sign up for digital accesses using a mobile phone number. Download the Libby app from OverDrive on your mobile device, choose “Get Started” and enter your full name and phone number. The information submitted will be used to confirm the mobile phone number and verify that the address entered is in the San Antonio Public Library’s service area. Once confirmed, the digital library card will provide access to the Library’s entire digital collection. Want to check out books, movies or other physical items? Visit any San Antonio Public Library location and sign up for an all-access card.

Libby is available for download on the App Store, Google Play and the Microsoft Store. Visit meet.libbyapp.com for more information about Libby, including how-to videos and frequently asked questions. The San Antonio Public Library continues to adopt new and innovative ways of providing resources to the community.
