National Voter Registration Day Event at Central Library Celebrates Libraries as Voter Registrations Sites and Cornerstones of Democracy

San Antonio Public Library celebrates National Voter Registrations Day with speaking program, activities and crafts.

The celebration welcomes Jacquelyn F. Callanen, Bexar County Elections Administrator, Bexar County Elections Department along with guests. Activities will include craft and photo stations, refreshments and an appearance by Library mascot, Smarty.

All San Antonio Public Library locations are voting registration sites throughout the year. Some Library locations serve as early voting sites and polling locations.

National Voter Registration Day is a national holiday celebrating our democracy. It was first observed in 2012 and has been growing in popularity every year since. Held on the fourth Tuesday of September, National Voter Registration Day will be observed on Tuesday, September 25th this year. The holiday has been endorsed by the National Association of Secretaries of State. It is further supported by the National Association of State Election Directors.
