November 1 in San Antonio history...

1899
San Antonioโ€™s German language newspaper, the ๐•ฑ๐–—๐–Š๐–Ž๐–Š ๐•ป๐–—๐–Š๐–˜๐–˜๐–Š ๐–‹๐–šฬˆ๐–— ๐•ฟ๐–Š๐–๐–†๐–˜, reports that Boerne is soon to get electricity.  The Dubinski Electric Company has accepted the contract for the facilities.

1941
Parachutist George Hopkins, a native San Antonian, jumps from a plane and lands on the top of Devilโ€™s Tower National Monument in Wyoming today.  However, his plan for getting down from the mountain goes awry and he has to wait six days in freezing temperatures for rescuers to climb up to him with rappelling equipment.

1981
A new music-only channel appears on UA-Columbia Cablevision in San Antonioโ€ฆ  MTV!
