December 3 in San Antonio history...

1869
The Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word formally dedicate Santa Rosa Hospital, then known as Charity Hospital, located at Cameron and Commerce Streets.  An advertisement in the San Antonio Express promises that the Infirmary will be open to “all persons without distinction of nationality or creed.”

1946
Andre Kostelanetz conducts the San Antonio Symphony at the request of conductor Max Reiter.

1994
On the eve of her concert in HemisFair Arena, Selena debuts her new women’s wear line designed by her and San Antonio native Martin Gomez.  “I probably would have been a designer if I hadn’t gone into entertaining,” she confided. “I’ve always loved fashion. It was my dream to produce a line of clothing like this, but I was always too busy.”
