Captain Superlative, by J.S. Puller

Captain Superlative by J.S. Puller

Diminutive in stature, Captain Superlative has a larger-than-life attitude, sweeping reclusive Janey into a series of events which draw her out of her self-imposed invisibility and into the harsh glare of middle school attention. Having spent the last three years trying to remain unnoticed, Janey finds herself holding doors for teachers and students, standing up to bullies, spreading encouragement, and wondering whether the friendships of years past can be renewed.

Janey also questions the motives of Captain Superlative, and the answers send her reeling as old wounds open with fresh hurt. When all seems lost, can Janey move beyond the role of sidekick and into the spotlight of the superlative?
