Laurel Heights Pharmacy, at the corner of Main Avenue and Mistletoe, holds its grand opening.

Three new cases have been added to the polio outbreak, bringing the total to 55. Requests to the medical advisory board have been received from Fox Tech High School, stating that 1000 students wish to attend summer school, and Trinity University, requesting the lifting of the ban on schools.

The South Loop 13 Drive-In Theater, the fifth in the city, opens with “The Outlaw”.
