1946
The polio epidemic continues as the count increased today to 70.  The medical advisory board of the city health department ordered strict compliance with the polio ban.  Dr. E. J. Arendt, acting director, was requested to seek police aid in keeping children under 14 out of theaters.

1968
Tiny Tim-mania comes to San Antonio as he plays a concert in Municipal Auditorium with The Yellow Payges and The Hereafter opening.

1997
The Spurs select (not so tiny) Tim Duncan, a 6′ 11″ forward from Wake Forest University, with the #1 pick in the NBA Draft.
