Police cars have been equipped with sirens similar to those used by the fire department.  They are to be used only while the cars are responding to emergency calls.

Frost Bank moves into its new multistory “skyscraper” at the SW corner of Commerce and Flores streets (now the Municipal Plaza Building.)

1946
Col. Charles Craig, retired consultant at the city health department stated today, “San Antonio polio is definitely under control.  The ban has been lifted for two weeks and we have had three cases a week during that time.”  The year’s polio count stands at 98 cases with no new cases reported this week.
