1980
City Council approves the Metropolitan Planning Organization’s plan to purchase motorized replica streetcars to replace buses on downtown El Centro shuttle routes.

2012
Dallas-based 7-Eleven Inc. acquires San Antonio Tetco’s retail and wholesale assets, including 163 convenience stores in Texas and Utah.  7-Eleven left San Antonio when it sold its 75 area stores to Stop-N-Go in 1989.
