November 8 in San Antonio history...

Francois Giraud, City Engineer (later Mayor), begs the City Council to reserve the lots and head springs at the head of the river, and to reserve a strip of land on the east bank of the river within the city limits.

San Antonio voters establish the creation of a Metropolitan Transit Authority (VIA) in San Antonio.

A San Antonio resident offers a $1000 reward for information on vandals who drove through his yard and destroyed an oak tree.  His house is a replica of the White House.  “My home is more authentic than the one in Washington.  It has the original floor plan with a two-story spiral staircase in the main entry hall,” he said.
