1917
Oysters are served at the annual alumni meeting of St. Mary’s College, thus beginning the tradition of Oyster Bake.

1932
The new Central Catholic High School is dedicated.

1977
San Antonio shoppers find a new product on their grocery store shelves today. Mrs. Baird’s bread, a favorite in Texas, arrives in the Alamo City.  The bread joins Mrs. Baird’s cakes, sweet rolls and variety breads which started distribution here in May 1976.
