March is winding down, but it's not too late to keep celebrating Women's History Month
by reading a good book about an inspirational woman. The Oldest Student: How Mary Walker Learned to Read by Rita L. Hubbard shares the story of Mary Walker, a woman who
learned to read when she 116 years old.
Throughout her life, Mary dreamed about being able to read her bible. She was born
into slavery in 1848, and though she was eventually freed, receiving a formal education wasn't
an option. Everything changed in the years after she turned 100! She started reading
classes and learned how to read her bible.
