The Bexar County [Freeman] Coliseum is desegregated on the order of the board of managers. An announcement declares that there will be no discrimination “based on race, color or creed of persons lawfully on the Coliseum premises.”
After a brief hiatus of four months due to a change of management, the San Antonio Register resumes publication. The new owners are Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Glosson. Editor U. J. Andrews also retires after 35 years and John Stewart II has temporarily assumed his duties.
