April 15 in San Antonio history...

This is the first year that income tax is due on April 15. When the Sixteenth Amendment was passed in 1913, the filing deadline for individuals was March 1. It was changed to March 15 in 1918.

Elvis Presley plays his second of three 1956 concerts in San Antonio, at the Municipal Auditorium with a 1:00 p.m. matinee show and an 8 p.m. show.

In a bizarre incident, Spurs forward Tim Duncan receives two technical fouls from NBA referee Joey Crawford while sitting on the bench and is ejected. Duncan is fined $25,000 for his remarks after the game. Crawford is suspended indefinitely by NBA Commissioner David Stern.
