Beginning today, traffic policemen stationed on all important street crossings in the downtown district will cease to control traffic by means of their hands and arms. Instead the new signal devices will be in operation.

1926
San Antonio’s new traffic artery, chiseled out of the heart of the downtown area – the Market St. extension from Alamo to Rusk – is virtually completed.

1954
The Los Angeles Rams play an exhibition game against the Philadelphia Eagles in Alamo Stadium. The Eagles win, 24-21 (right).
