San Antonio Public Library Kicks Off Summer of Reading and Fun at Mayor’s Summer Reading Club 2018 Launch

How-to Guide to Chess is Five Millionth Digital Check Out

San Antonio Public Library has reached yet another exciting milestone; the five millionth digital check out. The item was Winning Chess Middlegames: An Essential Guide to Pawn Structures by Ivan Sokolov. The most popular San Antonio Public Library digital item of all time is an eAudiobook, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. The Library’s five millionth check out landed San Antonio Public Library in the list of only 52 out of 38,000 libraries with OverDrive worldwide to achieve the goal. In 2016, San Antonio Public Library became one of only a handful of library systems to reach one million digital check outs in a calendar year.

Digital Inclusion Month Continues at the San Antonio Public Library

Free classes for adults taking place at library locations throughout the city

San Antonio Public Library is offering a series of digital classes during the month of May as part of Digital Inclusion Month, a national initiative aimed at bridging the digital divide, providing members of the community access to technology, increasing digital literacy, and encouraging the use of technology in economic and workforce development.
