Calling all LEGO® lovers! Save the date, September 1, 2018, for the grand opening of Nature Connects: Art with LEGO® Bricks, an award-winning sculpture exhibition by Brooklyn-based artist Sean Kenney. Created with nearly half a million LEGO® bricks, the thirteen nature-inspired displays at the San Antonio Botanical Garden include a larger-than-life Monarch butterfly and a 6-foot hummingbird on a trumpet flower!
Just as LEGO bricks interconnect, everything in nature is interconnected in a delicate balance. Visitors of all ages will stimulate their imaginations and delight in the union of art, nature, play and design with this exhibit. The nature-inspired sculptures connect families with nature, creativity, and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) in a whole new way.
The San Antonio Botanical Garden is open daily from 9am - 5pm. Nature Connects is included with general admission ($12-$9).
San Antonio Public Library cardholders will receive $1 off general admission. Simply show your card when purchasing admission.
And, if you need some hands-on LEGO® fun - many of the San Antonio Public Library locations host LEGO® Times on a regular schedule. Visit the LEGO guide or the SAPL events calendar for details.
