Forest Hills Branch Library Renovations

The Forest Hills Branch Library will be undergoing renovations as part of the City of San Antonio's 2017-2022 Bond Program. Renovations will begin September 29, 2020 and continue until January 2021. Contact-Free Pickup service for holds and outdoor Wi-Fi access at Forest Hills will continue with adjusted hours. Book drops will be available.

At a Glance

History

The branch was dedicated October 1, 1988. Original square footage was 9,000 square feet. Construction for the subsequent renovation began November 3, 1998; re-opened November 17, 1999, with square feet at 12,040. The branch is named for the area it is in, known as Forest Hills.

Collections & Services

71,111 volumes including videos, DVDs, audiobooks, read-alongs, and music CDs.

Community

Primarily serves schools in the Northside Independent School District. Also serves San Antonio Independent School District and Edgewood Independent School District. Serves four elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school all in close proximity to the library branch. Eduardo Villarreal Elementary School is located next door. International Bible College is also a neighbor. St. Mary's University is approximately two miles from the branch.

St. Dominic's Church is within a mile of the location. Next door to the church is the Henry B. Gonzalez Home for Senior Citizens. Ingram Park Mall is approximately 2 miles from the branch. The mall is often used as a reference point to direct patrons to the library.

Via Loop 410 W: Exit Ingram Rd. East on Ingram for 3.5 miles to White Tail. North on White Tail. Library is on immediate right, next to Villarreal Elementary.
